Coming up in a couple of months is an EAA Young Eagles event that Sherri and I try to attend each year. It is called "A Day In The Sky" and is co-hosted by the EAA chapter at Watsonville, CA. http://www.sharedadventures.org/DitS.htm The purpose of the event is to fly kids with challenges or limitations and offer them something that is very special to them. Flying a child for the first time is neat, but flying one of these children is heart warming. The gratitude of both the kids and the parents is worth setting aside time to attend if any of you are able.
When I do one of these events I try to have something to give each kid to remember the day by. This usually means a ball cap with the planes N number on it and a few years ago I had a bunch made up on hats that resembled the US Flag and also my plane. With only a couple of these left it is time to start looking for another offering and I'm wondering if anybody has had hats or shirts embroidered with their airplanes. I've come across this site which looks promising, but pricey also. http://www.TheNPlace.com/ Any other options out there that you recommend?
