STOL fence

I have afriend that put them on his -8,as well as vortex generators. He has since removed the VG's but the fences are still on. Im not sure if he has gained a thing, and as far as I know, he has never flown the plane without them. I ,as a -4 owner dont know why they would be of much advantage at all. The plane flys so well slow and fast, why add fences?

Tapered wings have a tendency to "tip-stall" like the Cessnas, so they put a lot of twist in, so that the tip flies at a much lower AOA.

Our Cessna Agwagons had fences to keep the center portion of the wing stalled first and a fence to prevent the stall from progressing outward too soon.

Our Hershey-bar RV wings have such a benign stall, you'd simply be adding weight and drag.

Stall Warning

I put an electric stall switch out on the wing like that of an Archer, I think I got it at Aircraft Spruce. It works great, I have it wired to a warning light and buzzer and it comes on 6 kts above the stall.
