Hartzell has started implementing a new S/B that gives a propeller shop
the alternate method for compliance with AD2009-22-03 which is the compliance with eddy current on the hub every 100 hrs or replace with
the nice old 2800.00 hub with a B on it. This new bulletin requires us to
overhaul the propeller and install a Red Dye 10wt. Oil inside which is supposed to be a crack detector if there is a problem with the propeller hub.
McCauley Propeller has been doing this for years, it keeps the Hubs themselves and internal parts in excellent condition as they are being soaked in 10wt oil all the time. We just started doing this modification, the parts run
