I'm wandering if an I0 -540 with a C2YR-1BFP/F8068D prop is vulnerable to harmonic vibrations( on an RV-10). As in an RPM range, to avoid continous operation. We are calibration our Skyview tach and can include a yellow arc for this location if needed. I know a 360 cubic in engine can have these conditions but I thought the 540 did not have this problem.
Thanks Ron

I also have some vibes at 2400....

...but I've found that 2350 is a smooth spot on my -10 with the Hartzell blended airfoil prop, so that's where I usually put it.

Have you had your prop-engine combo dynamically balanced yet? I'd do so before placing arbitrary yellow lines,

Best,

smooth running

I reclocked my prop on my C4B5 back 60 degrees. My sweet spot is between 2100 and 2250 in cruise. I checked with Hartzell customer service, and got an unbelieveable amount of help. There is no RPM limits on the IO540. I have my IO540 on a modified RV6 airframe. Steve "The Builders Coach".
