Anyone know what the current software for the Garmin GTX327 is ?

Just had mine updated in December. I think it was 2.10, but I'm working off memory.

I think that is the latest version. I forgot to check mine this weekend. It is only a month or so old.

How does one go about updating the software? Mine is 5 years old so I know it is not the latest.

Do you have to send the unit in to update it?

Any Garmin dealer can do it. I believe it requires a Windows program and serial connections to the back of the 327 along with power/ground. I don't recall exactly, but takes about 15 minutes or so. The files are available on the Dealer side of the Garmin website.

I would only bother with the upgrade if you have a specific need (like ADS-B support). My 327 was so old it didn't even have the RS232 setup page in the menu.
