I just wanted to mention something I haven't seen talked about here. GRT offers a mock-up of their AHRS, magnetometer, and displays that you can purchase while your building and then return later for full credit. In my case, I am mounting the AHRS back behind the rear baggage compartment (8A) and wanted to get everything ready (mounting, wiring, pitot, static, etc.) before I riveted on the top skin. So, I ordered the AHRS case and the wiring harnesses. I also ordered the face plates for the new HS/HX screens. All of this gets applied to the purchase of whatever system package I purchase later. This keeps me from having to shell out the big bucks now and have all of that nice stuff sit around collecting dust. This is great for us sloooow-builders.
Other EFIS providers may do this as well. It is worth a check.
