I am looking for settings for a rv8.

Have a grt autopilot connected to roll and pitch servos (grt as well)

Roll works reasonably well with default settings - could be improved.

Pitch is unusable right now so wanted to see what people have used in terms of settings.

RV-6A here. Prior to the new code (not yet released), I was using the 144 setting for AP Pitch Gain and around 130-150 for the Alt Hold gain. You'll also want to play with the Damping settings. I had this down to 87 for pitch.

Since loading the new code, all the settings are lower and behave somewhat differently, so still finding the best options. I had the settings well adjusted for normal flight, but really struggled with Loc and GS settings. I am still making a lot of changes to be able to support both S&L as well as coupled approaches.

I was using a 127 AP Roll Gain and a roll gain around 125, I think. Damping also at 87. Can't remember my heading or x track gains. These are pretty easy to adjust in calm air.

Good luck and let us know what you find to be optimum.

Thanks Larry. This was helpful. I am still tweaking a bit but was a great working starting point. I will post once tweaked.
