What do you guys think is the difference in gal. between "level flight" gauge indication and "ground" fuel gauge level indication.

I think I'm showing 5gal. more when I'm on the ground....

On my RV-4...

With 5 gallons in the tank my fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank in the level position, and 1/2 tank in the ground (3-point) position.

Or is it the other way around? :) I have it marked on my panel...

I don't know if this helps you with your plane...

My fuel indicators from Vans are very precise below 10 gallons. Level the same either on the ground or in the air. If needle gets to zero I have exactly three minutes @2200 rpm rich until it coughs :) Tested during Phase One.

On the Dynon the gages read about 3 gal more in the three point attitude than level flight (which I hardly ever see!). With the nose down the gages read lower than level.

I have a skyview, I found that the fuel computer is very close ( with in 2 lts ) of whats inside the tank. This is with the vans float type sender, and red cube fuel flow.
I still have trouble getting my head around, that when I look inside the fuel tank and only just see a bit of fuel, that I still have 20 ltrs inside, good for another 3/4 hour.
