I'm New Here
I have been looking at VAF and considering an RV for a few years. I have decided that I am going to build an RV8 as soon as I have my shop finished. (I'm a perfectionist and a neat freak, so I want to have the shop perfect before undertaking the project.) The -8 will be the first airplane I have built. Aside from the superb characteristics of the RV, I chose it for the extreme amount of knowledge and wonderful help available. My most sincere thanks to the current Rv'ers in putting up with my random (and somewhat ridiculous) questions.

PS: One thing that has been nagging me: Some -8's have a scoop under the cowling and some don't. Is this carbonation vs. injection?
 
Carbonation??? My nose always tickles when I get around carbonation!;)

On the other hand, the scoop on the cowl is due to vertical or horizontal induction. Doesn't have anything to do with Fuel Injection or Carbonation.
