I still need to go pull the cowl, I usually inspect the underside of the engine after flight through the lower cowl with a flashlight. I have noticed some gray soot at cylinder fins at the edge of the aft lower baffle. My guess is this is some sort of accumulation of dust.

I just wanted to know if others have seen this before, I can't see the other lower baffles without pulling the cowl. Picture late today but any info before I head to the airport would be helpful

Could be your baffling is vibrating, and causing this. When two pieces of alum work together they make a residue that looks like black soot. Look for a shiny spot in the middle of the sooty area.
