Although still a long way to go on my RV-7, I?ve been researching various EFIS displays and was wondering if anyone out there has the Grand Rapids Horizon 1 system with the internal GPS? If so, how?s it working out?

As an aside, while talking to the people at Grand Rapids they mentioned that they have just started shipping a ?sport? model of the Horizon 1. They will start advertising it soon.

Faultless

I have an AvMap with it's own GPS, which my Avionics bloke fed to my Dual GRTs.
Has worked faultlessly.

PS. I run one GRT as Flight Instuments, one as Engine Monitor (You can select them either side depending if you or your three year old granson is flying) and the AvMap for Nav.

I selected the AvMap because it has the biggest screen and was only $1700, though if you had the money a third GRT would be better, as it has the most intuitive Menu/flight Planning system I have seen and Terrain with warning. That is more intuitive than the AvMap and even better than Garmin.
