I managed to break the tip off the audio plug going to the back of my Garmin 496. I have red, yellow and white wires. I assume that white is ground and goes to the sleeve. I assume that the red and yellow wires go to the ring and tip. Does it matter which color (red and yellow) goes to the ring or tip?

GPS audio

According to my notes, the GPS audio is connected as follows:
Sleeve - Green to D-Sub pin 3
Ring - Red to D-Sub pin 6
Tip - White D-Sub pin 7
I have the optional Ground Loop Isolator and can not remember if the above applies to the GPS plug or to the Ground Loop Isolator plug.
The GPS sound output goes to the music jack between the seats and also to the intercom.

I also have the Ground Loop Isolator installed and the wire colors are for the wires coming out of the Isolator.

No one seems to know the Ground Loop Isolator output plug wiring. The good news is that Van's has Ground Loop Isolators in stock and one is on the way to Arlington, Texas.

How about our Texas Rangers!!!!
