I noticed that the area on my 7 where there are no hinges on the cowl for attachment (just aft of the oil filler door) bows out slightly in full cruise due to the pressure inside the cowl.

Has anyone seen this on theirs?

I was thinking if would be a good place for a cam-lock.

I had the same situation with my RV-6 when it had hinges. I switched to SkyBolt fasteners. The problem disappeared.
