Hello Gang,
I have a new to me Garmin GNC 250 GPS/com in the panel with a 6-year old database. Updating seems to require the JSUM software installation from Jepp then the Skybound USB Adapter from Garmin which is $50.00. This seems steep for an adapter.
Do we have any options? I really just want to buy a one time update so spending avgas money on the adapter sticks in my craw :)
Anyone want to share one?
Or better yet anyone have a datacard with recent US data?
Thanks Greatly
Rick

Rick, if you can't find someone local with the adapter, send your card to me and pay for the update and I will update it for you and send it back. But I bet you will be able to find one locally, as that's how we all update our cards.

Strawberry Tabs :)

Thanks Vic, if I cant find a local Skybound adapter I'll take you up on it.

Your Sport Aviation article "Strawberry Tabs" in 1984 is what inspired me to build my first RV. Ordered the plans for the -4 so I could build one just like yours then bought a -6 kit when they came out which I finished in about 6 years.
I still have that SA issue and bet many other builders were inspired by your excellent workmanship.
Regards
Rick
