I'm New Here
Hi There,

I just found this site and already im looking for help!

Im part of a five man group building a 7/A in Dublin, ireland and have been tasked with getting a glass cockpit suite together.

We are all military pilots but have no engineering backgroud so an all-in package would suit best. Is it possible to find an integrated MFD and moving map? whats best suited to the 7/A for general aviation?? has anyone done this before??? Will i have to sell my car to afford it???

Any help would be great!undefined

Cheers

Scroll down on the Forum Main Page until you find the Glass Cockpit forum, and start reading...there's a lot there!

Personally, I went with the GRT system, and am extremely happy with it after three months of flying with it. Don't be afraid of the integration - it's a pretty easy job.

try Blue Mountain Avionics for an all in one efis. the EFIS One is an all in one large screen EFIS. they also sell smaller versions, but they're not all in one units. there are other manufacturers as well such as dynon and grand rapids, but the BM EFIS Ones is a nice and large all in one unit.

Send an email to Steinair.

The website is www.Steinair.com

I know that the website is basic, but they are all former Northwest Airlines Mechanics and avionics specialists.

They also sell Grand Rapids, Blue Mountain, Dynon, and Chelton systems.

I know they have shipped equipment and harnesses to Italy, I presume that Ireland would be no problem.

My personal feeling is that for someone who is not interested in installing the system yourself, Blue Mountain would be the worst possible choice. On the other hand if you have a professional pre-make your panel, it will likely come down to features.

I second Steinair. I've purchased everthing including the Harnesses from Stein. He has helped me so much and I'm sure being over the pond won't make a bit of difference in their support. You can see my panel at My Kit Log.
