Gear towers going in and last check finds that the F802c (The top-plate on the gear tower assembly) and it's overlap of the F887 [top] longeron doesn't "look like the picture" so to speak, in my plans.

With a little pressure I can pull it over maybe an 1/8".

These are all pre-punched -1 parts, so I didn't mis-drill anything.

Anyone else had this happen? Any ideas? Suggestions?

Here is photo of the left side to give you an idea.

Thanks....

Sandy,
If I remember, in the directions it tells you to put a strap around the fuselage and cinch together.
This pulls the longerons in to meet the gear boxes.

Fuse

I just finished this step 2 weeks ago. A ratchet strap is tightened then you
drill the longeron. Are you going to remove the tab?

When all else fails, read the directions...

Dang, you're right. I do remember that instruction. Yep. OK.

Truth is, looking at it and realizing there was no way this could be off (due to the pre-punched parts) I thought to myself, "You could just use a strap and pull this together."

Thanks guys.

PS The tab was left on inadvertently. I was getting to that next.

Gear Tower to Longeron Drilling

Sandy,

Just finished this yesterday. I used two 1" Cargo Ratchet straps, one at each end of the tower flange to 887 wrapped around the fuselage. Pulled it pretty tight, still a little ways to go and coaxed to where I was happy with some rubber mallet tapping, drilled the center three holes, clecoed, then removed one strap at a time to drill the final two holes. Looks pretty good
