Is it necessary to trim the aft edge of the fiberglass gear leg fairing after installation of the hinge material? The paper template that is included on the drawing wraps around the fairing but is about 3/8" short of the aft edge. I'm assuming the aft edge should be trimmed to that length but my concern is that it may then open up a little gap because of the hinge thickness.

Do not trim the aft edge of the leg fairings if you plan to use pre-made intersection fairings. When you fit the upper and lower intersection fairings you can trim the leg fairing if needed to a neat fit. I trimmed the aft edge of my leg fairing as per the template and the pre-made intersection fairings were too big.The hinge on my fairings is not visible.

I'm working on my leg fairings and was going to trim the aft edges tomorrow.

I do have the Fiberglass Etc intersecting fairings so I'm glad I asked. Thanks for the input.
