I've heard tell from a buddy that someone, somewhere had for sale a device of some kind for positioning and retaining the gear leg fairings (that didn't involve the Van's method of hose clamps, was presumably entirely internal to the fairing, etc.).

I have searched all over, but can't find any such thing...does anyone know of such an animal?

TIA...

fairing

My setup is a fixed upper cuff with just one locating screw thru the upper cuff/ main fairing just aft of the gear leg. Lower portion floats in the wheel pant cuff. Probably a temporary clamp if I need to fly without the wheel pants. I used this setup for 1000 hours on a non RV. An alternative upper fitting is a piece of wood(balsa?) shaped like an airfoil and bonded to the gear leg with a couple wraps of glass cloth/epoxy. One anchor nut imbedded in the wood. I may have seen this on VAF.
