Hi,

I am about to drill the U804 steel brackets, and I noticed that there is a 1/16 gap between the U804 and the U806 when they are nested together against the gear leg. Is this normal? or do I have to do a LOT of filing on the gear leg? .. the top and bottom surfaces of 804 and 806 are already flat against the leg surfaces.

Thanks ,

Chris

When the gear is properly torqued, I believe you should have an .032 gap between the 2 parts.

Thanks Jon.

It also would have helped if I read on to the "final installation of the gear page"....
Oh well, once again, I should have read a few more pages ahead...

Chris

Also, on the 3- 8's I've done I probably have had to file the U shaped part(forget which part #) at least .032 to get that gap. So if one is bottoming out before you reach final torque, you will have to file at least .032 off the face of that part.
Good luck
