Anyone done any direct comparisons of the iPad vs Android versions of Garmin Pilot lately? I thought I remember from a while ago that the Android app was somewhat inferior to the iPad app. Is that still the case or are they now equivalent?

Only asking because I'm shopping for a tablet to interface with my G3X and haven't committed one way or the other.

I just looked at the reviews of the android version on the play store. Recent reviews suggest it is still 2-3 versions behind the i-thing version. No synthetic vision, terrain, obstacles, etc which apparently were in the i-thing version a year ago.

It is behind the apple version. I am using it on a samsung gaxaxy note 8.0 purchased off e-bay for 100.00 bucks. Switched from the Ipad because of cost. All the missing items are already on the g3x so I am not sure if you would miss them or not.
