I searched for this topic and did not find the info I need. My apologies if I missed something.

Here's two questions: (1) If you have Garmin Pilot with SafeTaxi does the SafeTaxi show the exact position of the aircraft on the taxiway while on the ground (as it does with the Garmin 696, for instance)?

(2) Are the taxiway designators (I.e. Taxiway A) easy to read? On the Garmin web site they look a bit small.

I am purchasing a GDL 39 and need to decide whether to buy SafeTaxi for the 696 (which I like a lot) or the Garmin Pilot. I can save some data base money if Pilot works the same. Thanks.

Yes.

Are the taxiway designators (I.e. Taxiway A) easy to read?

They are a bit small, but you can pinch-zoom in for a closer look.

They are the exact same diagrams that they use for the handhelds, MFD's, glass cockpits, etc. The resolution is enhanced for the larger screen and/or higher resolution.
