I'm New Here
Hello all,

I currently pilot a Britten Norman Islander kitted out with a KLN 90B GPS,
KFC 325 autopilot and Bendix King EFIS 40/50 (not sure which one but we have
two EFIS screens).

The KLN90B GPS is currently standalone but we are getting it wired up to the
AP/FD through the ARINC429. While this is an improvement I am looking into
upgrading the GPS unit to a GARMIN 400W. Can anyone help me with the
following;

1. Does anyone have a KLN90B connected to the KFC325/EFIS 40 50? If so are
there are problems with it and will it anticipate turns between waypoints?

2. Does anyone have the GPS 400W (or similar) connected to the above AP/EFIS
equipment?

3. Will the Garmin 400W connect to the existing FD/AP (Bendix king KFC 325)
through the ARINC 429?

4. How much work would be involved in providing the new unit with a encoded
baro-alt feed? I believe the Transponder receives this electrical input and
they are relatively close.

5. Will any modification be required to the power supply to the unit?

6. Will the new unit provide the AP/FD with GPS Steering (GPSS)? This will
allow smoother operation and turn anticipation when approaching waypoint?

I know i'm asking a lot but you seem like a very smart group. Any
hints/pointers/info would be great. The page below has a small part of
information.
