Just finished installing a G3X system with the GEA 24 engine interface to replace my Vision 1000 system. Decided to reuse the existing RPM sensor on my right Slick Mag, and configured it as a Mag Port at first, but got no RPM's to register with the engine running. Reconfigured to JPI sensor, and restarted. Got a "hardware malfunction" message, but the RPM's read correctly, so I shut it down and prepared for a test flight. On the next start up, the "hardware malfunction" message was gone, but run up showed a dead right Mag (the one with the sensor). Initial examination didn't show anything obvious. Coincidence, or did I fry something?

Problem solved

Found a small cut in the shielded p-lead wire. Probably from pulling wire in and out around it.
