My trutrak digitrak will not pick up the flight plan, and tends to continually make a shallow left turn. Trutrak said to change the baud rate to 4800. I can only find on the 696 that 9600 baud rate is only available.

Looking for someone who has a 696 wired into the digitrak. What settings are you using?

I may have some other problem, but wanted to make sure the settings are right before I start more troubleshooting.

If you set the output on the 696 to just NMEA, you should be able to get 4800 baud. If you have it set to NMEA & VHF OUT, TIS or AVIATION IN, it will lock it at 9600.

Still not working.

Ok. I set it to nmea out with boad rate set to 4800. It does ok holding heading but :

1. There is about 1" of stick slop before you feel resistance from the servo on the ground

2. GPS heading never displays...only get goal posts.

3. F never comes up on flight plan.

4. Does not say Off like its not getting GPS data. When it was set to aviation in at 9600 i got the off.

Not sure what to do next. Thanks for input thus far.

Did not change autopilot settings.

No I didn't. I will try that today. Thanks for the help again.
