My good friend has a little glitch with the Garmin 250 XL in his RV6. After a flight the screen went blank and the lights on the buttons were blinking on and off. He took the unit out and cleaned up all the connections and plugged it back in. Now, when it comes on it reads as follows:

'Restore User Data'
'All'
'Replace, Restore'

Anyone else ever have this problem (maybe a 'user data card' or something)?? If so, was there a fix or did you have to pay $600 buckaroos and send it in to the repair center?

My first guess would be that it has an internal battery that has gone dead.

Thanks for the suggestion. And thanks for all of the PM's. "Jeff' was able to get the unit in the test mode and it says the internal battery is good. Unit is still belly up. I believe he is sending it in for repair this morning.

That will be $550 please. Doesn't matter what's wrong, just pay $550.
