I'm thinking of replacing the current Apollo comm with a Garmin 200 in my RV8. It includes a 2 place intercom with auto squelch but I'm not sure if it is a step up or a step down from my standalone PS 1000. Anyone have any experience with it? Thought?

Can't compare to your PS unit for you, but the Garmin 200 works great as advertised.

You can keep the current intercomm and it will still work fine. Or, upgrade to a Garmin intercomm and enjoy bluetooth connectivity - music and phone through your headset. I was NORDO once due to an alternator failure and would have loved that feature because I knew the tower's phone number but couldn't hear my phone with it just held up to my ear.
