My question has to do with when can I install a DB update that is "available" but not yet "effective".

I know with the GTN, I can have the "current" and the "next" DB on the same card. The GTN will use the "next" DB on the date that it becomes effective.

How does the G3X handle this? Can I load the "next" database before it becomes effective or do I need to wait for the effective date?

Hi Rick,

Fortunately, it is pretty simple. The G3X retains one copy of each database (last loaded) and will let you load and use a database before the effectivity date if that is what you wish to do.
