I've read multiple threads and tried to get this right but I am failing. I know the answer is there and simple but my lack of experience keeps me from seeing it soooooo, I'm throwing it out there.
Dual LS Plasma III units (A1 model, 10v), with tach leads from pin 6 on each unit going through the GEA 24 (Pins 6 and 8) then to the G3x. I've placed 1/2 watt resistors of 2k, 5.1k and 10k inline of each tach sensor lead but still no joy on RPM. I get the idea is to drop the 10v signal from the Plasma III to 5v so the Garmin will display the information. Some posts state placing the resistor to ground but I'm not sure how that works. Can someone help a non-engineering fool understand this?

Figured it out this AM. I realized the 5.1k Ohm resistor run in parallel drops the voltage to 5v so the Garmin can see the tach pulse. Voila.... RPM
