No, the data log files recorded to the SD card are not the same format as the simple text format described in Appendix B. The SD card log files are in .csv format, which can be read by any spreadsheet application. The exact contents of the log files varies from one installation to the next due to differences in configurations and installed equipment, but in general all pertinent data is recorded for flight instruments, navigation, and engine information. Each column of data in the log file is labeled with a description, so you should easily be able to make sense of it.
