Hope it's not a stupid question, but can anyone provide a simple explanation of how a g meter works? Does it need wires or any other kind of connectors ?
Thanks
Steve

G-meter

Just a couple of weights on short arms and torsion springs with a lock mechanism to hold the position until manually released.

F=MA and deflection=K*F. A small mass of known magnitude is suspended in the meter case and coupled to a spring-loaded dial mechanism. The dial mechanism has a known spring constant and therefore deflects a known distance for each unit of force applied by the accelerated mass. No electricity needed.

Thanks guys

Besides learning I can always depend on getting a good chuckle out of these posts. I have my panel designed and it's ready to be cut out. Like a big dummy I totally forgot about installing a g meter. Now I'll have to do a slight bit of re-design, but I was not sure if it needed connections. Hopefully, 9HK (a fastback -8) will be flying this year.
