Here are a couple of things I did to my 8A. First was using a 3 lever throttle quad with a fixed pitch prop, I hooked up the inboard most lever via vernier cable to the carb heat door. This was easy to do and I am pleased with the results. The second was using a airwolf remote oil filter system, I mounted the oil filter below my battery tray, pretty much as low as you can go. My thinking, when I do a oil change, poke a hole in the filter to let it drain, spin it off and replace it, no mess. I have yet to test it out, so time will tell if this was worth it. Here are a couple pics.

I'm doing the same thing with my throttle quadrant although I'm using the prop control as my carb heat control (with approrpriate labeling).
