You understood. Thanks. Its just that I see many aftermarket "plain" panels for sale everywhere so I was concerned that they weren't included with the kit from Van's.
There are better panel options than the "standard" panel, thus the aftermarket stuff.
Even though I will have a simple day / night VFR panel for my -9, I elected to go with a modular panel from [/url=www.affordablepanels.com]Affordable Panels[/url] because they make the installation of systems, wires, etc. so much easier than Van's stock panel. However, it doesn't look like they make one for the -8.
When you get the panel, I suggest you ask the instrument, radio, etc. vendors for cardboard cutouts so you can mockup your panel. Epanelbuilder is great but I still did the mockup and changed things around for about six months before I cut anything.
