I'm using electric trim on my 7A, so I don't need the manual trim part on the fuel valve plate (F-983). Before I cut it off, I was wondering if anyone has mounted anything else there?

Hi,

I had some passing thought of mounting the engine primer (pump needed here in NE OH in cold weather) on the plate, but that would be a bit awkward. It is close to the fuel lines for a tap-in, etc. Have you thought about mounting any switches of your choice? Probably not a very good idea either, but just a thought.

or say XM radio receiver? You'll find something to put on that tab..

I haven't cut mine off.. either XM or "backup" portable GPS are most likely candidates for that spot.

You could put your trim or flap switch there. Then you could avoid a wiring hassle to the sticks.

Park Brake/Heater

You could put either Park Brake or Heater Knob on it.
Mine is modified as per the pic. and has the Firewall Cabin Heat Vent Shut-off, Park Brake and Hot Cold Cabin Air Mixer control on it.

I put my Hobbs meter

there to save on panel space. You can kind of see it in this photo..
