Coincidental timing?

Monday morning I was flying the -4 over the coastal mountains from Salmon Arm to Pitt Meadows (Vancouver, BC) when I happened to notice my fuel flow fluctuating between 8 gph and 11 gph. The EGTs were fluctuating up and down at the same time. After about 5 seconds it settled down. The engine never missed a beat the whole time and if I hadn't glanced at the engine monitor at the right time I would have missed it altogether. I believe it was some foreign body moving through the fuel system.

Then this morning I see the Service Bulletin regarding Fuel Tank Slosh. My -4 was built in 1987 and definitely has slosh in the tanks (red/orange). I am now expecting to find a piece of this in my gascolator when I inspect it (before this flies again). And if so...........maybe I get the experience of building gas tanks!

Oh well, the rainy season is arriving soon :(
