I have bent the rod on the floats in the fuel tanks and the left one is correct, however I have the "sherpards hook" open side facing up on the right side. Is this a problem? The print shows the open end of the hook facing down. The rod is on the centerline of the float and nothing touches in the tank. Is there a chance that the float will come loose from the wire hook? I would replace it but I am thinking that the plastic clips on the sender may not hold up to removing then replacing the rod. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

IMHO.....it won't come off....if in doubt, why not dab a "SMALL" amount of Proseal. You don't want to change the "floatation" characteristics of the float too much by adding proseal wt.???
