Doing my CI this week. Precision Airmotive recommends cleaning the internal filter of the Silver Hawk every 25 hours or IF u suspect a problem, depending on what/where u read. This is the first time for me. I figured 5 years and 900 hours - it must be time.
Here is the internal filter assembly with the 2 replaceable o-rings. The dark “dust” particles (left photo, top) are the grand total of about 7200 gallons of fuel. I think I’ll schedule to check it next time at 10 years or 2000 hours, unless I suspect a problem.

I pull that screen at every annual, standard practice for me. It's a finer mesh than the standard AFP prefilter.
I would suggest you adjust your schedule, that's a really bad philosophy when it comes to checking screens/filters!

Good advice

I’ll take your advice Walt. Too EZ to not do it. Adding it to my CI checklist.
