Why can't we access and buy a fuel pump overhaul kit? Having to replace a pump just because the oil seal is leaking is a very expensive exercise.

When I was a young mechanic we repaired fuel pumps all the time with overhaul kits, what's changed?

The kits must be available some where because I notice a number of shops advertise overhauled pumps for sale.

Now days one can't eve overhaul a washer machine or any similar appliance. It is a way of making us buy more and better consumer.

They are out there, ya just got to search for them. Might be harder in your part of the globe.
