Hi All

I am looking at using braided fuel lines rather than the aluminium ones. I hear a lot on the various lengths etc but should they be Teflon? if so Why?

Thanks

Jim

Oh My!!

Hi Pierre

Yes I did miss that post. Gives me a cold shiver down the spine! So that is indeed something to be VERY aware of.

I think you used up a whole lot of luck with that one.

Thanks Mate

Fuel Lines

Jim,
Be sure you use the proper spec for the teflon hose. Fuel flowing through an insulated line develops static charge and the aircraft spec has carbon in the teflon to dissipate the charge. Most applications dont flow fast enough to create this, so it is not common "on the street". Check other threads here and you will find it. I have recent data on a test where 60,000 volts was generated in a plastic line. It will create pinholes and weep.

Good Luck!

Oil & Fuel Line's Useful Life

Is there a rule of thumb as to when to replace oil and/or fuel lines?
