Anybody have a good source for custom fuel lines? My mattituck io320 came with some really nice high end fuel lines (aeroquip) but with the brown firesleeve. Much more professional looking then the orange sleeve. Now that all is fitted, seems I will need all them custom made to the correct size due to the red cube, need for gascolator in Canada etc.

Any suggestions on a good source would be great. No interest in short cut when it comes to fuel supply. :p

Thanks.

PHT

Precision Hose Technologies. They make the brown sleeved type. Not cheap but peace of mind is expensive.

Call Bonaco. There great and will take care of you. Aircraft spruce also sells fuel lines with the brown teflon fire sleeve. Not as easy to order as it would be with Bonaco though.

You might be right. I found their website to be very difficult to navigate unless you know exactly what you need. When I call them it was much more simple.

I did order a brown teflon fuel line from spruce though. There's a bit of a process to get it ordered but overall it was not a problem.

A.E.R.O. Aviation has made several hose kits for me for Malibu's, Bananas, etc. API also has a nice hose shop. Both with competitive pricing I believe. I still like to make my own, then they really fit the way I want. For engine changes I usually send the whole bundle to the hose shop for copying. That way I get the nice date tags all the same (Homebuilts aren't bound by the 5yr replacement schedule). Once the brown sleeve goes on, you can't modify it, so you need to order correctly. I don't think the orange sleeve is ugly, they do have more flex (tighter radius) than the brown sleevers.

Stratoflex Hose

I believe the integral brown firesleeve hose is a (Parker) Stratoflex 124 product.
See pic at Skyranch site:

Parker's site is typically hard to navigate but here's the Stratoflex catalog:

Regarding the gascolator(s), on my RV-9A with IO-320 I am considering mounting one Andair gascolator in each wing root to serve as both a gascolator and inlet filter to the fuel boost pump (Andair insists on and inlet filter and I don't want to use their inline filter in the cabin next to the pump - too difficult to service, also single point failure if filter gets plugged). Andy at Andair says he has wingroot gascolators on his airplane and they will fit in the wingroots and still have enough room for servicing. Then from the boost pump direct to the engine driven pump.
