I have never worked with aluminum tubing. After reading the posts here I was all set to place an order for extra tubing before I needed it. My buddy who does airconditioning and comercial restaurant equipment repair suggested I just pick some up at the local hardware store. Is it the same stuff that Van's sells? He looked at the kit supplied tubing and said it appeared identical. His bending and flaring tools all seemed to work fine. I was considering picking up some locally to practice flaring and bending. Any reason this wouldn't work? If I actually screw up a real piece, could I substitute the local product?( not that I have made any mistakes so far LOL)

diffrent angle

The flaring tools used on avaiton connections may not be the same # of degrees. I know auto lines are often 45 degrees where the Avery tool is 37 degrees.
