I have secured with tank sealant the fuel float from the Van's kit in my 10 fuel tank. Is there a method to check its performance before installing the wing onto the fuselage and filling the tank with fuel? Ie measurement of resistance in various positions? I have tried that but so no difference.

Resistance Test

The Stewart Warner 385B/C senders we use are supposed to read 240 ohms (between the sensor output and ground) when empty, and 33 ohms when full. I have two blog entries with photos of my own measurements here:

and here:

If you're testing and not seeing any difference in your testing then you might have an issue with your sensors or maybe your multimeter?

Good luck!

EDIT: Sorry I forgot you have QB wings so the baffle is already on. You will probably have to set the tank right side up to get the empty reading and upside down to get the full reading. It should work, I know on mine I can hear the float flopping around inside there.
