I'm buying an RV-8. The cabin air vent is operated by a push-pull wire in the space under the throttle quadrant. How and where is this cable supposed to end?

This arrangement seems to work fine if you know where to feel for the wire but it seems like there has to be a better way. I'd appreciate any ideas or pictures.

Thanks

I've only flown in the back seat so far so cannot verify it. There is another cable with knob to the right of the throttle quadrant that the owner says is the cabin heat. The pre-buy inspection is Thursday so I'll check it out with the A&P/AI then.

It is for fresh air. The rod connects to the slide valve on a NACA vent. I looked under the panel and I can get to the vent fine and it has a flange for scat tubing, so I'll add an eyeball vent under the panel and connect it to the vent with tubing.

All controls, no matter what they are for, should be clearly labeled.
