how does balancing work on a fixed pitch prop? I can only get about 2350 rpm on the ground. can it be balanced all the way up to 2900? if it is smooth above 2450 should I even worry about it? if i get the balance set at 2450 will it get bad at 2550 and above?

It's pretty easy actually....

The balancing is pretty easy to understand. If the prop is in track, the vibration will not change by any drastic measures. You spin it at the desired RPM or as close as you can... and put the weights on the flywheel. It's really the seesaw theory... got a big person on a seesaw.. and a smaller person out a little further. We don't make any adjustments on the small guy... only the big guy. When the RPM changes... both guys move out on the seesaw for more "moment" and yes.. they do move at different rates... but if you are at a reasonable level... you will be just fine.
