I have read in the UK Sportscruiser website of several instances of holes being burned in the top of the dash, by the sun when the tip-up canopy is left open. Only takes seconds.

Is this specific to the profile of that canopy, or do you think it could equally apply to the RV12 canopy?

Cheers...Keith

Sun

My bride and I were passing by an RV-6-A at the Van's get-together a few years ago and noticed that it was on fire inside. The canopy was closed and somehow, the sun was shining 'just right' to cause a part of the canopy to focus the sun on the top of the instrument panel. We opened it up and easily put the fire out but if this had gone unnoticed for a while longer??? Not good.

Buy a cover from Van's. You don't want other stuff bouncing off of it either...like rocks from someone starting up in front of you etc.
