My RV-10 is finished and flying.

My insurance company told me that they wanted me to get five hours of transition training with Alex De Dominicis or Mike Seager. It didn't seem unreasonable since most of my PIC time is in an RV-8.

Luckily, Alex had an opening in his schedule and I jumped at the chance to go fly with him.

I finished up flying with Alex today and I want to tell you it was money very well spent. Alex is great to fly with. He is patient, funny and very professional. We spent alot of time working on landing techniques, speeds, proper use of flaps, forward slips and emergency procedures.

One of the more interesting things we did was try different flap configurations for landings. It was amazing to feel the difference between 2 notches and full flaps (with just two of us in the airplane).

If you are nearly done your RV, I strongly recommend you schedule some time with Alex. I thought it was fun but also a great opportunity to fine tune my piloting skills. Superb!
