Anyone from the Eastern US headed to KOSH in their -12? planning on leaving the Saturday before and stopping overnight close to OSH for an early Sunday arrival. If anyone is interested in caravning up let me know. Located in southern OH.
Any RVs flying from the Pacific Northwest (PNW) to OSH this year? If so, which initial routings from PNW crossing the mountains are most preferred? Since I need to fly via BIL (Billings, MT), I am considering two routes:
-Northern: via GEG-MLP-MSO-HLN-BZN-BIL (basically follow I-90)
-Southern: via BOI-PIH-IDA-WYS-EKS-BZN-BIL (Raynolds Pass crossing)
Any input or recommendations? Anyone have experience on either or both of these routings?
Thx-Dennis

Thanks for that info. I was thinking I should probably stop somewhere close to OSH. It's a 3 hour flight to OSH in my 12, and while I can fly 3+ hour legs I wasn't wild about the idea of joining the conga line followed by a long taxi on rough ground after that.HXF is about 30 nm south of OSH. The have 91 octane Mogas. It's a good place for singles or groups to stop and top off before the run into Rippon-Fiske-OSH. This will give you an almost full tank for the first leg home.
Looking for recommendation on a stop about 100-200 miles south of Oshkosh to spend the night and make an early arrival at KOSH.
Restaurant closed and not sure the hotel is open anymore either. Call first. The owner sold the whole thing last year.Check out 4I7 (http://www.dixiechopperhotel.com/pilot-information)
I stopped there a few years back. Good food and a hotel at the airport. I didn't stay at the hotel, but I'm sure it's decent by the looks of the other facilities.
Last Stop was 37nm south of OSH so we will not need to buy Fuel at the show where they only have 100LL.
