I recently purchased my empenage kit and as I look at the ribs and place them on a flat surface, they look straight and most have been flutted already. This kit was delivered from Vans 2 months ago. Is this a new thing from the factory?

Some Fluting

I got my tail kit about 1 year ago and there was some fluting done to the ribs. They were all pretty close. The ribs in the wing kit also had some fluting done, but they required much more attention, especially leading edge ribs.

My ribs were mostly fluted as well, only required a minor tweak here and there (on empennage anyway, I got the QB wings). As long as they look reasonable and you don't have to twist or mangle them to match the skin holes, build on!

I think I got it

In further reading it says to use a straight edge for reference along the pre-drilled holes so I will tackle that one tonight. thanks a lot for your replies:D
