In putting together the fuel sending unit and float assembly, it would seem to me that the float assembly would have a tendency to come out of the sending unit when the fuel tank is full. The slot lines up and there is nothing holding the wire rod in except the pressure from the nylon clips.
The wire rod has the 90 degree bend at the tip to retain it in place everwhere except when the float indicates a full tank. Should a dab of adhesive be added to the wire rod where it connects to the clips?
