I pretty much love the look of an -8 with it's canopy slid aft, but you do end up with the canopy bow obstructing you vision. I also love the look of the Flip forward canopy on the F-22 (or is that the F-35?) or Flip aft canopy on the F-16 and the visibility they give - though now you're counterbalancing alot of weight from one end.
Has anyone done a RV-4 type flip over on an -8? Has anyone tried to place an angled roll bar aft of the rear seat and then flip the front part either forward or aft?
Just curious.

One of the fast back kits has a side flip like the 4, not sure if it is the showplanes or clark kit.

Sounds like a neat idea!!

Showplanes fastback conversion option. Has a 'flip-over' canopy. The visiblity is similar to what I saw in a helicopter I went for a ride in once - it's unrestricted. It's great for formation flying and everything else.

Does the showplanes conversion eliminate the draft that seems to be common on the 8s?
