I attempted to attach the Flightcom intercom to the instrument panel this morning...a simple thing to do; only two screws. BUT upon trying to run in the first screw the press-fit threaded insert on the intercom simply fell backward into the intercom's 'box' - you could hear it if you gently shook the box. I talked to Flightcom to get a return authorization. They suggested opening the unit and to use epoxy to adhere the insert...I thought a poor fix so I asked to return it either for a replacement (preferred) or a factory fix and return. I don't have a return authorization yet.

I might be a good idea to be VERY gentle when you try to run in the two screws that hold this unit in place...the man I spoke to at Flightcom said the these things come loose sometimes, so it may be a fairly common problem.

Welcome to frightcom. They're cheap, but actually work pretty good. I've put at least a dozen of them in.
